OT: Jeopardy

Next week, February 14 to February 16 the game show Jeopardy will have two of

the very best players going head to head against a computer named . This

represents a remarkable achievement in that the computer can even understand the

question let alone act on it. I figure it can go three ways. The computer will

not win and that will be the end of it. The computer will win and finally be

able to offer humanity real insight and information in ways and means beyond our

current ability. Or, computers will become self aware and kill us all. It will

be interested. By the way, I had to look up how to spell Jeopardy so I could

write this which means I'm probably not going to audition for the show. The

should host a show for people like me who have the same IQ as their shoe size.

I had heard about the new computer, but I didn't know that it would be

participating in Jeopardy. Thanks for telling us. Now I hope I

remember to check it out.

: This popular game implements strategy until the opponent's power authority

is trapped and checkmate is announced.

But my mind is far from a computer! I don't suppose the new computer

will ever age, like humans.

By the time we get old, we know so much and so much information is

stored up there that we have trouble retrieving it. I know too much.

That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!

That's true, some have suggested that people actually store every single

experience we have but we just can access it. In my case it's even worse. I just

discovered there's more stuff on the Internet than just this Group and porn!

It's amazing.
