Guest guest
I will pray for the same, I hope they come up with easier treatments too. When I called the dr's office to get the results the nurse I had worked with the most was thrilled to tell me. They seemed almost as happy as I was about it. I guess I was lucky to have the help of a medical staff (after a couple of bad experiences) that cared. It made me feel like more than just a statistic on their books. -dz- Terry Long <pawpawto3@...> wrote: That is good news Dave. I pray & hope that next year this time, that my news is the same. Guest guest
Yes, I recall you were having difficulties getting the right employment opportunity. What kind of work do you do (when you have your choice). I understand the unemployment claims went down again last month, so hopefully the economic picture is improving. Good luck. -dz- <ralexan@...> wrote: Hi DZ I've been doing ok. Have been working as a security guard out at the King Ranch. I have to get up so early that I only have time to read my email. Guest guest
Dear Friends, Thank you for all of your lovely wishes - mmmmm, Jerry, a lollipop sounds good! My daughter and I had a wonderful day together. She has difficulty with my illness so she often pulls away, this was a great way to help our relationship. I can't think of a more delightful way to celebrate than with a daughter who wants your day to be special, too. It was a real extravagance, but we loved every minute of our pampering! Luanne - I'm glad you're able to see some light. That foot will become unstuck, soon. I would push the "disability" issue if need be with Ty - even if it's medical help only - I can't imagine that with a doctors note, etc. that he would be considered. I'll keep you in my prayers. Guest guest
Bunny, glad to hear the good news. You should take it first thing in the am and not eat anything for an hour. Just an fyi, tea has fluoride in it and that can adversely affect the thyroid. I know that green tea has it, even if it's organic. The only way to get away from it is if it's grown in a greenhouse, I think. I know - it sucks - there are just too many things that are bad for us Just wanted to let you know that. Guest guest
Bunny: Sounds like you had a hard road to get those meds, huh? I can't help you with when to take it, but I'm sure one of the sweet souls here on the board will be able to help you out there. I have a question, actually... Did you doctor explain Hashimotos to you? I've read a lot and am confused as to what the differences are between that and " plain ole " hypothyroidism. How does one test for this exactly? I hope the synthroid makes you feel better soon, Bunny. BTW, what made your doctor change his mind about giving you meds, and why an endocrinologist instead of a GP? I read somewhere to NOT go to an endo, but can't remember why. Ella > I have been going to my endocrinologist for a full year now, and finally > he's put me on synthroid... just today. Guest guest
Ella, hashi's is when your body produces antibodies that attack and suppress the thyroid. The test I got was called TPO,which is supposed to be the most accurate and effective one. Guest guest
Ella, What has explained below is the same my doctor explained to me. He says that in all of the tests, they came back negative for the antibodies. However, he did not explain exactly what symptoms or levels make it seem like I have Hashimotos. That is one I think I may need to discover through my own research. Thank you for all of your kindness and support... thank you to Ella, Gracia and everyone else here. I'm so glad I found you all. -Bunny Pierce wrote: > Ella, > hashi's is when your body produces antibodies that attack and suppress the > thyroid. Guest guest
Ahh.. okay. I think I did read something somewhere about this type of hypo causing inflammation and swelling (goiter)? I don't think that's my problem...I don't even know if hypothyroid is my problem. I'm still waiting. But it sounds really scary. ( Thank you for the information, . Guest guest
Wow... it's really spooky how all of this, despite symptoms people have and the misery involved, is so difficult to pin down and diagnose. It really made me feel so much happier about myself and has always helped my confidence. And for those of you scale watchers out there, I noticed that since I started exercising more over the last couple of weeks (I am about five weeks out from surgery) the scale shows that I am losing about a pound a week which seems so slow compared to the liquid diet phase; however, my clothes are getting big on me. My pants are falling off of me! Please remember that muscle is heavier than fat so if you don't see the drop in the scale just look at how you look in your clothing. By the way, I have stopped weighing myself religiously, it just started driving me crazy! This leads me into a question for all of you big losers, when did you start buying new clothes. I work in an office and don't want to look sloppy but I also don't want to spend a fortune on new clothes that may only fit me for a few months. Does anyone have any recommendations? We should start a clothing exchange or something.Oh, and one last thing, for those of you that have not had surgery yet. The only thing that I wish that someone had warned me about was the depression that occurs after going under anesthesia. If I had known about this I would have prepared better by using some natural healing techniques (not drugs). I took a week off of work and when I returned I was in such a funk that I almost quit my job. It took me awhile to realize that I was suffering from a temporary depression and I shouldn't walk out the door. I have a very close friend that is a "healer" and she gave me some Back flower remedies (that didn't bother my stomach) and some aromatherapy that helped and she recommended Reiki (if I had know I would have scheduled a Reiki session right after my return home). I know that some find these kind of weird but it is just my opinion.Anyhow, happy losing!012706/252/220ish/135ish Virginia

Guest guest
Hey , this is Kelli your next door neighbor in Mexicali. Sounds like you are doing really well. Glad to see you are back on the saddle enjoying your rides. I've been staying on the ground walking with a fellow wls friend and riding my stationary bike. I am contemplating on going to the university gym in the mornings to work out the rest of my muscles. I've been doing good, was back to do housework and all of that other stuff once I got home. Sorry to hear about your depression, I guess the drugs can have an effect on different people. For me, I was okay I guess there's just too much of me that it really didn't take hold for too long. I do agree with you on preparing yourself prior to having the surgery for post-op, I think you had some really good ideas about doing things naturally...I'm thinking of having a back massage here done shortly as well as go back to my chiropractor to get my spine back in shape. I've never tried the aromatherapy, so do give details on that. Good Luck to you... HYPERLINK " fungirlsophie " fungirlsophie Tue Aug 1, 2006 6:53 am (PST) My husband, daughter and I had a meeting yesterday with our school principle and the pre-school teachers to introduce Sophie and go over her needs and answer questions. I was so sure that she wasn't ready for preschool but wanted to " get the ball rolling " just the same. As it turns out, we are right on track and some of the things we are working on are actually kindergarten skills! I am so pleased! I always felt that between working full time, taking care of my family and everything else going on, that I wasn't doing her justice. I was thinking that all of the other moms would be teaching colors, shapes, letters, etc. while we were still trying teach hearing and talking, and that the other kids would be so much more advanced. But somewhere along the line, living AVT has paid off. The teachers and principle agreed that she is right on target. She still has a language delay and is a deaf child, but the CI has made a HUGE difference in a very short amount of time. I can't wait for her to be in school as I think she will love it. The teachers were awesome and couldn't wait to have her in their classroom as well. I was so worried going into the meeting and came out feeling so much better! I just had to share our " moment " .
