Dear Group,

Okay, I have to admit that some recent post about BMI's at 40 being low for

this surgery is causing me to " wig out. " First, I want to say that

everyone has been very supportive towards my wanting to get this surgery

even though my bmi is 35-36. So here is my question. Does anyone know of

anyone who has gotten the DS with a BMI of 35-36?

I have an appointment with Dr. Gagner on October 11 and I am so afraid

that he will say " no way. " I can demonstrated that I have not been able to

maintain a lower weight even with many tries--five medical some solo. I am

just curious--what is the lowest bmi of someone doing this surgery? If the

Dr. recommends doing the other types of surgery, (I know they have been

done with people with my bmi) I am going to say no thank you.

Yes, I actually have been trying--not to actually eat more--but lets

say--not worry about what I eat. But the worse case for me is to gain more

weight and still be told--no way. I rarely loose--once I gain. Okay, I am

going to try to be calm. Thanks.
