What were you injecting (I have to inject Humira). Had you injected either the PEN or syringe into the thigh? Are you saying the stomach is less painful than the thigh? Do you prefer the PEN to the syringe?
Guest guest
Hey guys! I have always used a needle w/Enbrel & Humira and for me, the skin on my tummy has a lot less feeling than my thighs. I hate needles too, but for several years, I had to give my cat insulin shots so I was able to reasonably handle giving myself the shots. The first time or two was nerve racking, but I got used to it. D. ltdavis_jrdavis@... From: ~Kami~ <kamilleon@...> Subject: Re: [ ] Re: I just injected into my stomach... Guest guest
If you clean the skin area with a alcohol wipe first, make sure the alcohol wiped area is dry. It is that which makes the sting. I injected into my thighs when on Enbrel, I liked it much better than the stomach. Guest guest
I inject Humira, via the Pen, into my stomach. I have muscular thighs and would always hit the muscle and bruise. I do get a small bruise occasionally on my stomach, but there's not much I can do about that. I have a flat stomach so there's not much extra there for insulation. I've never used the syringe on myself before, but I do give my dog allergy injections and find it is easier for me to inject with the pen because maneuvering the syringe can be tricky with stiff, sore fingers. She gets 1.0cc as her dose and I'm using a 1.0cc needle for her, so the plunger part has to be depressed the full length of the needle, which is hard with my hands. Dosing with the syringe is no problem, so that's a non-issue in my book.
