Guest guest
I think you can just donate them back to your Dr. that way he or she has them on hand for people who are just starting Enbrel and are working through that ins period. ________________________________ From: phl300 <phl300@...> Sent: Wed, April 7, 2010 2:07:38 PM Subject: [ ] Need Enbrel advice Dear Group, My wife has been battling sero- neg RA for about 4 years now. Her Doc just switched her from Embrel 4x a month to Simponi 1x a month. She has been responding well to the new medication and im going to start some PT soon. I still have (3) 50mg Endrel auto injection pens that will expire on 1/13/2011 sitting in the fridge. Is there any way that i can donate them to a person with no benefits or an organization that can give it to someone? It would break my heart to through them out. The cost is up to $550.00 each. Is it legal to give them to a person who has to pay for it? Please advise if you can... Phil W. Long Island, NY
Guest guest
Phil, It is illegal for you to give or sell the leftover Enbrel to someone else. Please ask your wife's physician about what to do. Guest guest
Some doctors will do this especially with patients who can't afford their medications. Guest guest
You're welcome, Phil. One of my primary goals is to keep people in our group out of jail. Guest guest
Hi Phil---Bringing it to your wifes rheumatologist is the best idea. I am already in the " donut hole " with medicare( doesn't take long at $2,000.00 a month)---my Dr. gives me returns or samples of Enbrel until I can find private co-pay assistance--I just picked up three yesterday someone had brought in after it stopped working for them. God luck to your wife with the Simponi. Louise > > > Dear Group, My wife has been battling sero- neg RA > for about 4 years now.
