I was referred to a pain management doctor right from the start they would

rather you go there than be responsible for someone getting addicted etc,

its especially this way in new york i see more and more people getting

referred to pain management.

I told my Reumatologist that when I had to go to work, I had to be on my

feet for almost 12 hours and the pain medicine I was on wasn't working

any more. He told me he couldn't give me anything stronger than what I

was on, but he would refer me to a pain management clinic. Most RA

doctors would rather send you to a pain specialist than to write the

prescription themselves. The pain clinic put me on Fentanyl patches 75

mcg and Percocet for breakthrough pain, Neurontin for Fibro, and Miralax

for the side effects of the pain medicine. They tried to put me on

Provigil for chronic fatique but I couldn't afford the $120 co-pay. I

hope your doctor will give you a referal without any problem.
