Pru, did your doctor prescribe a medication such as Fosamax for your

osteoporosis? I have osteopenia, the forerunner of osteoporosis, and

had been on Evista. I switched to Foxamax when it became generic. On

the Evista, my bone density had actually improved, and I'm hoping for

the same from Fosamax.

Hi Sue [:)]

No, the physician that ordered all those tests also advised me that he

wouldn't prescribe ANY treatments for me due to the severe Fibro & has

referred me back to my original Fibro diagnosing rheumy (who I see next

Tuesday with a 4 hr train trip both ways! [:-s] ).

But that sounds VERY interesting that Evista actually increased yr bone

density - woohoo! - I wouldn't have thought that was possible - sounds

hopeful.

Hi Sue,

I sent in a reply about 4 hours ago but it has not shown up yet in the

messages - so I will answer again & hope it gets thru this time (plus

I'll make a copy of it this time [:)] ).

No - the physician that also ordered the MRI & Xrays & blood tests

referred me to to my original diagnosing rheumy because he did not wish

to prescribe any medications due to my fairly severe Fibro. So I have

to make the huge 4 hour train trip both ways next Tuesday [:-s] .

But that is really great to know that Evista is actually restoring some

density to yr bones - that sure gives me hope that it may be able to

correct it a bit.
