Guest guest
Hi Everyone, First, thanks everyone for your very sweet responses. Second, I talked to my Rheumy today. I think that because you don't see my disabilities I fool even my Drs. I got a " hmmmmm " . Then he said to immediately increase MTX to 6 a week. He also listened to everything I had to say, foot pain no swelling, joint stiffness, hands , etc...worse than when initially dx'd in July 2007. I have a standing order of blood tests every 8 weeks, CBC, CRP, Sed rate, liver, and vitamin D..he asked me if I could go to the hospital and have them done 3 weeks early stat. He is very curious to see what is going on inside. He also mentioned something about Enbrel, but I might have to put up a fight if he wants to change that on me. He told me to rest, take my pain meds, and we'll review the blood tests and go from there. Something else interesting today, my mom went to see her Rheumy..only her 2nd visit, she is 86 and is very fragile, loaded with osteo perosis. She tested on the low end for RA but her Rheumy does not feel she has RA. I watched her examine my mother all over and my mom does not have pain in any of the places that I have pain and I have sero factor RA. It's all so strange. I just wanted to give you an update and again, thank you guys for your responses. I've never felt this bad before. It's really scary. Am hoping the MTX kicks back in quickly. Heidi in Mass. Go Red Sox!!!
Guest guest
Hi Heidi: I am happy that your Rheumy really listened to you today, and wants more blood work to see what is going on with you. I am happy he also increased your MTX, and I hope you see results soon. I know you are hurting so much, and I hope you take his advice to rest, take your meds, and hopefully to feel better soon. I am praying for you to be pain free soon. Hope the Sox win tonight. Guest guest
Hi there! I think it'll take a while to see a change, maybe a few weeks. I also have a feeling my test results will be normal. So what does that mean? How does that explain the pain, will he then blame it all on fibro? I'm getting ahead of myself. Oh well. I am resting, and if the Yankees weren't in town, I'd be bored out of my mind. Red Sox are winning 6 to 0..however, with either team anything can happen...I'm so proud of myself for my diplomacy....LOL. Many monster hugs to you! Heidi in Mass. Guest guest
Hi Heidi - I'm so happy to hear your Rheumy listens to you. I'm ready for a new one. Praying the " stat " bloodwork comes back ok. Keep us posted. I know what you mean about the pain being scary - I'm so tired of hurting all of the time. Is it possible for you to take maybe a 5-day round of prednisone to get things under control quickly until the MTX picks back up again? I'm sorry to hear your Mom is so frail. Isn't it strange how she tests positive without the pain and you are negative with the pain? I'm also sero-negative RA, so I understand. Hang in there, my friend. Praying you are pain-free again soon. Keep us posted - you know we care.....Doreen > > Hi Everyone, > > First, thanks everyone for your very sweet responses. > > Second, I talked to my Rheumy today.
