Guest guest
____________________________________ Dr V always wants to see what book I'm reading. I had & Kate with me today. 5 mins of our appt he's talking to me about how is going bald, Kate is pretty, when are they marrying?, that he went to London a few years ago...blah blah blah, is the book good? I was the one that started talking about me. He's so used to me coming in there and all is well. I told him I will be bald by my next appt in May....see how wispy my hair has become? What's doing this..the enbrel or prednisone? Said they both can cause hair loss. He doesn't want to take me off the enbrel because my labs have been good and it has my R/a under control. He doesn't want to mess with it. Me neither. He kept saying, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Said I am only taking a low dose. So, I say, if its such a low dose, why can't I wean off of it? (I called his office about 5 weeks ago and asked and she said Dr V doesn't want me off of it since I've been on it too long). Anyway, he said we can try to lower the dose....it will be 1 - 5 mg tab Mon Weds and Friday..the rest of the days 1/2 tab. I also told him I was having a lot of throat clearing and nasal sinus drainage especially in the morning and am constantly clearing my throat. He nods his head and said yes, that happens with enbrel..its one of the side effects. Well, what can I take? He mentioned all the OTC I already tried. He doesn't want to give me an antibiotic since I can become immuned to them. So...I guess I just blow my nose and throat clear till the ducks land in my yard. He doesn't want to change anything. I said I was on darvo and that's banned now so I need a replacement for it. He asked what do you want Tylenol 3? Told him I had a few tabs of oxycodone at home (low dose) and it really helps the pain when I need it.... Said that can become addictive So how about hydrocodone? That's fine too. Wrote me out a script for Hydrocodone 5 mg with 500 acetaminophene. Got that filled and now home. I see him again in May with my new wig. At least that's one done and over with.
