Guest guest
I am a new user of Dr. Sy's products and of treatment options in general. I have had rosacea of the nose for many years, with frequent pustules. Metrogel didn't seem to make a difference. Over the last 9 months I have developed a rosy forehead with papules, and rosy cheeks near my nose. No obvious flushing or blushing or triggers. I have oily skin, am not fair. I plan to try to get a referral from my primary care physician to either Larry Cole or Lee Blatt here in Colorado Springs (Dermatologists from National cea Society list). My current morning regimen, in place for a week or so: 1. Dr. Sy's soap, applied with fingers, not washcloth! Used to use Neutrogena with a washcloth; the more I scrubbed, the more pustules! 2. 15-20 splashes of warm-hot water using hands, to rinse. 3. Pat dry with soft towel. 4. One Q-Tip end dipped in Jojoba Oil and applied to forehead, nose, and cheek area. 5. Other end of Q-Tip dipped in Safflower Oil and applied similarly. 6. After ~ 5 minutes, blot face with paper towel. If necessary for appearance reasons, use Acne Cover Lotion. My current evening regimen: Same as above except add 7. Apply Acne Oil Control Gel (AOCG) This regimen has slowly lessened my rosy forehead and cheeks. After reading a recent post from Dr. Sy, I get the impression that I should be using a " light moisturizer " prior to the AOCG. Dr. Sy, should I be using your " Moisture Lotion for Normal/Combination Skin? " Or what? How about in the morning? Is my sequence OK for now? Thank you and Dr. Nase and Pascoe for your support of our particular electronic community. I suggest that you use tepid water rather than hot water in rinsing. Heat causes more vaso-dilatation and telangietasia (broken blood vessels.) >3. Pat dry with soft towel. >4. If your skin is tolerating the AOCG without applying the moisturizer, then the less product you use on your face, the better. Or what? How about in >the morning?
