Guest guest
Amen, honey! I had a run-in like that with an orthopod who said i had a " bad shoulder. " My PT asked if he'd looked at my neck, which he hadn't. She said it just didn't act like a shoulder to her. I asked Dr. Doom if that could be a possibility, whereupon he got very snarky and said if a " physical therapy person " had more knowledge than him, he'd be happy to do an x-ray. I told him to fire it up! He came in about 30 minutes later with a whole different attitude. Turned out i had a ruptured disc along with bone chips impinging my spinal cord. He recommended a neuro guy, which I told him I had my own. When i told him who it was, it sure shut his mouth. Had surgery two days later. I never set foot back in that jerk's office. I am so glad my primary and my rheumy are amazing, caring guys. You GO Clora! I will be praying that this rheumy is the right fit. My nails start getting loose unless I'm on enbrel or some PsorA med. I have RA and PsorA both...double the fun! Well better get busy. I'm back at work recovering from the poison ivy from h--l. Hugs to all from sunnY Dallas! Jane > > First, > > You Go Girl!!! Any Doctor have chewed me out at an appointment I was paying for would get it right back at them. Okay, one did. Don't put up with that guff from them. > > About those nails. Do you have any skin rashes that do not seem to go away? It could be (and I am going to spell this wrong, someone will correct me.) Psoritic arthritis, related to psouritis, the skin condition. This type of arthritis looks and acts a lot like RA does, and for the most part is treated with the same medications. The short-hand notation for it is PsA, and there is a support group on groups on it like this one. If you join that one as well, you could ask about your nails. I know that problems with the Nails, pitting, flaking, malformation, are a key part of PsA. > > I am pretty sure there are a few others with PsA on this list that can help as well. > > > > PS, I remember when you first joined this. You have sure learned to stand up for yourself! I think god had and has a plan for you, and you sure are doing your part. > > > > > > > > My primary doc gives me kadian 60 mgs. I see a new RA doc the 24th this month. My problem is my toe nails and finger nails are comeing off due to my fingers bending diff directions. They don't hurt much. I put a bandaid on them till they work themselves off. Does anyone know what they can do for this. As soon as one comes off a new one grows in. Ouch it does hurt but not bad. Would appreciate any comment on this. God bless all > > > > Clora > > >
