Guest guest
Carol, It's hard to make a diagnosis without seeing these bumps. I suspect that what is being described as itchy mosquito bite-like red bumps may indeed be hives which we call urticaria. It is transient, very itchy and is a reactive lesion. If this is the case, the best treatment is antihistamines. Sy M.D. Sy Skin Care http://www.lindasy.com Voice:Toll-free 877-sy (546-3279) FAX: Dr Sy/Red Bumps? >Dr Sy: Perhaps you can shed some light on the mystery of these red bumps. Some folks have refered to them as " mosquito bites " , others as " red bumps " . Mine seem to be particularly plentiful in relation to food triggers. What are these things? They don't seem to be pimples. They do itch, sometimes severly, othertimes not at all. Mine seem to be mostly on one side of my face, which made me suspect shingles early on. Are the antibiotics the best thing for these? or the antihistamines? Thanks for your time.
