Guest guest
My dad uses one and its great for us. We had bought both the wooden and the plastic one, but the wooden one worked best for us. I would recommend it. To: mscured Date: 07/06/2010 09:01 PM Subject: Transfer board Sent by: mscured Have any of you used a transfer board to get from wheelchair to bed, toilet, car seat, etc.? The orthopedic doctor who I saw about my broken leg thought that I could use one until I could stand again. He also recommended a walking boot that is so heavy that I can't lift my leg while wearing it. I wore it for a few hours and it had to go! I didn't buy a transfer board but I thought that some of you could benefit from using one. I'm already using my legs to help rotate me from my chair. I'll be back to 'normal' any day. The boards that the hospital carried were $55 for a wooden one, $105 for a wider plastic board with holes for handles. eBay has a slim plastic board for under $25 with shipping.
