Good Morning , I've asked this same question myself! I think we probably all experience differences but this is what I think. I was diagnosed about 6 years ago with PA although I believe I had suffered the disease about 10 years before that. Until about 6 months ago I was able to manage the disease with OTC pain meds. But this summer I decided I needed help and scheduled an appointment with the RD. At the first appt she decided I needed to have the right knee drained and injected with cortisone. I also began to prepare myself for Methotrexate injections by taking Folic Acid. Before I could return for the first MTX injection my left knee swelled so badly my toes were numb and I could not walk. That is the point I think my 'flare' began. In the next 2 months my knees were drained and injected 2 times each. I spent a lot of time in bed because I couldn't walk. As I look back at it now it seems the only time I left the house was to see another doctor. When I asked my RD about it she called it a flare--almost as if the last 6 (or 16) years didn't count! I suppose, compared to that particular 2 months, that the last years did not compare. I'm much better now but I don't believe it isn't the RD that has helped me get back on my feet. I believe it is the Chiropractor. Anyway--I believe everyone flares differently and some flares are more severe than others. Hope all are well today, Jeanne In Idaho
Guest guest
For the last week or so, the fatigue has been back. I didn't know how bad until I tried to teach my line dance class yesterday. Sometimes gentle dancing gives me endorphins and makes me feel better. So I went to dance class tonight. Still feeling fatigue -- knees and hips are bad, with shoulders and feet less so. I will call my RA doc tomorrow to see what he says. I don't get an infusion until January 11th. They did ask me if I thought I needed more Remicade and I thought I was doing ok. Now I wish I had. dd
Guest guest
Sorry for your pain and suffering. I hope your Rheumy helps you out with this. No fun to suffer like that.  Hugs,  Barbara From: dgd301@... <dgd301@...> Subject: [ ] Flare?
