Those days I wished I had a hot tub for my knees before bed. This year, my knees go back to feeling bedly when they get too cold. I think I'm going to ask my RA doc to raise the Remicade next infusion. dd
Guest guest
Hi Angie: I was hit the hardest with my RA in my feet and akles. When I was flaring, I could barely stand on my feet they hurt so bad. I could not walk good at all. I was hurting so bad and was afraid of falling. I would spend many days in bed because they hurt so bad. I also have very little feeling in my feet from my toes to the arches. This causes me to be unstable. I went to the foot dr. who got me new inserts for my walking shoes. I have a reg. pair when not flaring, and a pair made of a softer material but very comfortable. They cost $35.00 a pair and well worth it. My feet hurt so badly that I wanted to chop them off. I also bought a foot bath which helps a great deal. I add Epsom salts to the warm water and it is very soothing. I have been in a medicine induced remission with my RA. My feet are great but I have to be careful as they are unstable. I have Neuropathy on the bottoms. I do not have Diabetes. The foot dr. had me buy running shoes instead of walkers or cross trainers. He said the running shoes have more support. I don't wear anything but these. I bought them at Reboks because they were the most comfortable for me. I know what you are dealing with and it is awful. I hope my information helps you. I take MTX shots, Pred., Sulfasalazine, and Placquenil for my RA. I also have diff. pain meds. for when I need them. Talk with your Rheummy about your foot pain. He might have some suggestions for you.  Take care and rest when you can. I wish you many pain free days ahead.  Hugs,  Barbara From: asl1081973 <angie-long@...> Subject: [ ] Pain in legs and feet Date: Sunday, December 27, 2009, 7:09 PM  I haven't posted in a while but read posts all the time. My RA has been doing pretty good till about the last month and it continues to give me problems. I am having a lot of problems with my feet and legs. They hurt alot and don't feel like they are going to support me. When I get up from sleeping or just sitting around my feet and legs hurt so bad I want to cry. I see the doctor in about a week but was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so what helped. If there is something I should ask the doctor for let me know. Guest guest
Hi Angie: I just read your post about legs and feet. My legs below the knee hurt at night when I am laying in bed and then when I get up in the morning sometimes I feel like I cannot walk at all too. I have to hang on to something to make sure I do not fall. If someone saw me, they would think I am an old lady. I have knee and back problems so not exactly sure what is causing the pain.......maybe fibro or the RA or osteo.......it is a toss up. I see my Rheumy in a couple weeks and am anxious to see what he has to say. I just wanted you to know that others feel the same pain you do. Hope things are going better and hoping for a Happy and Healthy 2010 Gentle Hugs from Pat in Southern Oregon Bureau Alvarez ________________________________ From: Barbara Creedon <bcreedon@...> Sent: Sun, December 27, 2009 5:20:03 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Pain in legs and feet Hi Angie: I was hit the hardest with my RA in my feet and akles. Guest guest
Hi Melynda: I read your post and was hoping you were feeling better. These feet of ours sure do cause a lot of problems. Mine are very stiff and I am afraid of falling with them being so unstable. I hope the 3 of you had a wonderful Christmas. I sure did. I have had you in my thoughts and prayers. My love to all of you my dear friend. Please rest and do what you can each day. The main thing is to just rest yourself. Many hugs,  Your friend,  Barbara From: Melynda Gamez <melyndagamez@...> Subject: Re: [ ] Pain in legs and feet Date: Sunday, December 27, 2009, 9:30 PM  HI ANGIE,I TO HAVE NOT POSTED IN A WHILE AS WELL. Guest guest
Hi Regina: I too suffered with that Plantair Facitis, and glad it is gone. I hope it never returns. Yes, the shot does help. I had it done 3 times, and it finally went away. I could barely walk with it. I too changed the type of shoes I wore due to the Podiatrist' suggestion I change from Cross Trainers to Running shoes. This has helped tremendously. I also bout 2 types of shoe inserts from him. One I wear all the time, the other is when my feet are bad or flaring. I was glad I went to the foot dr. as I could not bear the pain any longer.  My feet are happy as I am sure your's are.  Hugs,  Barbara From: Regina Burns <regburns@...> Subject: [ ] Pain in legs and feet Date: Sunday, December 27, 2009, 7:54 PM  I have had a time with my feet and legs. My ankles, back of my heel and the bottom of my feet. I was diagnosed with plantar facitiis for the bottom of the feet. My rhuematologist did not recommend steroid shots in my feet, but I was getting to the point that I could not walk. He said it would break down the padding of my foot, but I thought just one time should be okay. I went to a poditrist and got the shots, plus I started wearing Sketcher Shapers. I still have some pain, but not like it was. I am living a normal life. Regina Burns

Guest guest
Yes, that would be good. With this disease, we have to work on one thing at a time. I hope you can get your pain under control. Everything takes so darn long!!!  Wishing you a Happy, Healthy, New Year.  Hugs,  Barbara From: Regina Burns <regburns@...> Subject: Re: [ ] Pain in legs and feet Date: Tuesday, December 29, 2009, 9:47 AM  Barbara: Now if I could cure my ankle and leg pain.
