Guest guest
Vicky, It does get better. I have had RA for 31 years, since I was 14. I also have some ancillary issues as a result of the RA--IGA Deficiency etc. The key is to find a good rheumy that listens, get enough rest (even if that means 12 hours during a flare), the ability to say no when your energy levels are low and not push it to the max, always always be compliant with your meds, and do't get stressed out. I have been on every NSAID, now on MTX and Plaquenil, Relefan--I do have joint damage and had wrist fusion last year. Just started Enbrel this week. And the other thing--get a job with insurance--I don't know how people get their meds without insurance--I still have hefty bills but I have insurance for the majority. Be positive and count your blessings---there are worse things--a positive attitude does help!
