Hi All,

Just thought I would share a website that I've found helpful (and

healthful!) for me.

I use www.mapmywalk.com, but there is also one for mapmyrun and

mapmybike. As the name suggests, it allows you to map out your walk

on either a street map or satellite map or hybrid. I have added

several of the walks that I take from my house and it is interesting

to see just how much mileage I cover.

There is also a training calendar where I mark down the activity on

the appropriate day and I like seeing the little icons build up as

the month goes along. I have also joined the ASICS Marathon-In-A-

Month Challenge, where you challenge yourself to walk a total of 26.2

mi over a period of 30 days. The mileage that I put down on my

training calendar (whether walks near my home or my walk-breaks on

the treadmill at work) are counted for the Challenge. I started on

June 11 and by last night I had completed 26.4 - and the end of the

30 days is on Friday! Needless to say I am quite proud of myself!

I have found this a very gentle way to stay motivated and watch the

health benefits rack up! Enjoy!
