Guest guest
Hi again, My physician also ordered a " bone density scan " , along with the MRI & Xrays & blood tests, & I have just got the results - I am deep in the Osteoporosis range .. So I have done a bit of " reading " up on Osteoporosis & I have found that people with RA quite often also have Osteoporosis - some due the effect of the medications i.e. steroids, but some maybe due to their bodies poor ability to absorb nutrients i.e. calcium (I was found to be deficient in Magnesium last year). Just wondering if anyone else also has Osteoporosis & how it is working out for you? For myself I had already been making sure that I was taking over 1000mg of calcium plus Vit D & Magnesium every day for the past 6 months PLUS trying to walk 30 minutes 5 times per week (but I am now finding that more & more difficult due to the massive fatigue it causes afterwards). And, oh yes, along with booking into 2 water therapy classes per week, I have also booked in for one Tai Chi class per week - I have never done Tai Chi but have read that study results say it is of assistance to RA.
