Guest guest
Hi Kami...when I had a similar problem with Humira....(redness, hard site area, burning for days on end which created a pressure ulcer which in turn took part of the muscle from my leg and I have an indentation there now). Long story. I could even put anything over the leg, it was so painful. I reported it to Abbott and the FDA. There is a way you can report it online and detail your reaction. I don't know anything about Cimzia....so sorry. Good luck on that med. I did use the enbrel self mix which didn't contain a preservative like the premix does. I don't have the burn at all with the enbrel and the only reaction I had was a little redness. Hugs and good luck again..a In a message dated 5/18/2010 6:17:01 P.M. Guest guest
So sorry to hear that, Kami. Cimzia hasn't been discussed much here, but perhaps someone who is on it currently or has been in the past will post. I hope you and/or your rheumatologist will report your injection site reaction woes to MedWatch. http://www.fda.gov/safety/medwatch/default.htm Not an MD On Tue, May 18, 2010 at 3:36 PM, ~Kami~ <kamilleon@...> wrote: > I just got off the phone with my doctor and she wants me to stop Enbrel due to the site reactions I have been getting (size of softball, hard, hot... lasting 5 days) > > She wants me to try Cimzia. Guest guest
Hi Kami, what a drag that Enbrel didn't work, but I am excited to hear about the Cimzia. Onward! You know, isn't Enbrel engineered from a mouse protein or something like that? I wonder if you had some kind of derivative sensitivity. Blech, mouse protein...
