The doctors are very pleased with the outcome of this operation. As I sat in her room and watched her sleep, I couldn't help but wonder how terrible is the pain of Crohn's disease that some one would opt to go through such a radical operation rather than risk staying on drugs. Don't get me wrong, I totally support her decision compared to the alternative but I have gained a new level of respect and sympathy for the pain that you all go through on a frequent basis and the difficult choices you have to make. Let us pray that a cure will be found soon and the solution will mean getting a shot once a year like the flu shot so that no one else has to face the choice that my daughter had to make. Guest guest
That's good news, Harold, that the surgery went well. I found a quotation which for me, especially right now (facing hip surgery on March 3rd), is helpful: " Life is not the what it's supposed to be. It's the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference. " It sounds as though your daughter is a strong and determined person and will make the most of whatever situation she is in. May God bless all of you.
