Guest guest
Hi Tim, I have a closet full of various types of pillows that I have tried. None of them have really helped much. I think it was Larry who suggested a soft neck collar for sleeping. I don't have one so can't say whether it works or not. All you can do is try various pillows to find the right one for you. in NC > Hi all, > > Was wondering if any of you use any special pillow. Guest guest
Hi , Yes I figur I will eventually have to just go buy a few & find the one that fits us best. Was just trying to narrow my search a bit by seeing what works for others. Thanks Tim > Hi Tim, > > I have a closet full of various types of pillows that I have tried. > None of them have really helped much. Guest guest
Hi Tim I have tried several but the one I stuck with was the tempedic neck pillow. But I will tell you that with these foam pillows there is something you need to know. Since when they are made most of the foam cells are sealed shut.It takes awhile of using them for the cells to open up and once they do the pillows are alot softer and feel better to use. When I first started using mine I HATED IT and I'd sleep on it for awhile then toss it across the room and grab my old one. I didn't really know why it felt so hard and uncomfortable to use I just knew it did. Also you can try sitting on them for a bit too anything that will open up the cells will work. I found them on sale at this site for you. http://www.healthyback.com/store/sleeping/ happy pillow hunting Sharon Group Owner > Hi , > > Yes I figur I will eventually have to just go buy a few & find the > one that fits us best. Guest guest
Hi Sharon, That's the kind we got last Christmas. We did the same thing you did, try to use it then toss it across the room. It's a seat cushion now, maybe its broke in? Might give it a try tonight but i am weary. Thanks for the link. One is called Squoosh and is a fat round tube covered in sleek nylon cover. I got it at the Safeway grocery of all places but I am sure they can be found elsewhere. I am sure I saw it Linens 'n Things too in their ad this summer. It looks like a really fat roll, like it wouldn't fit under the neck but because it has those microbeads, it's like a bean bag and just fits. I also have another of the same type I got at Walgreen's. It's also a tube type but it's shaped like a tight U with the ends close together. I sleep alternately with both of these and I absolutely love them. I carry the Squoosh in my car to put between my neck and the stupid head rest that is angled the wrong direction leaving a huge open gap and no support for the neck (VW New Beetle). These were both just $9.99 so very reasonable to try and if they don't work, they can go on the couch as throw pillows as they come in many solid colors, nice fabric. I also have round and square throw pillows for the sofa filled with microbeads that I got at Target. I was hoping they would be as nice but they are underfilled and you really have to fold and fold these flat pancakes to get any real support using them. They are good for on the couch though as a bit of additional neck support when sitting all the way back (my couch is med/high backed). Work for low back too. I also have the memory foam contoured pillow (on the front - small wave on one edge, larger wave on the other edge; flat on the backside; overall quite small in size). I use this in bed sometimes too but I'm pretty spoiled with the microbeads now. I also found this stiff and not so comfy when first using it but it seems better over time. This one tends to end up between my knees although it wasn't made for that, it seems to work just fine. HTH Leena
