First off, hang in there and try to put it behind you. Personally I do drink on my free days but I know that if I didn't I would probably see faster progress. I would definitely switch your UBWO and LBWO. Try some stretching and see if that helps. Maybe some ibuprofen if is still really painful. Guest guest
Ab Bootcamp will definitely clobber you if you're not used to all those intense ab variations. This is as sore as you'll ever be with it though. Next time the exercise demands won't be new to you and you'll do better. Although, it still normally hurts me to laugh or sneeze after a really good ab workout. Not a dying on the floor, first week kind of incredible pain but an " oh, yeah, I worked those " soreness. The pain in the top part of your legs is probably your hip flexors. They can come into play on decline crunches and anything that involves lifting your legs up (Roman chair, reverse crunches, jackknifes.) The hangover actually made me wince more than the tale of the ab pain. :-) The idea of that achy nausea feeling on top of sore muscles sounds really awful. Hang in there and keep drinking your water to combat the dehydration. Do that great big stretch where you reach up toward the ceiling and stretch out all your ab muscles. Here's a good hip flexor stretch: http://www.exrx.net/Stretches/HipFlexors/Lunge.html Hang in there! In PAIN Help, I HURT! Saturday I did cardio and then thought I would be hard core and did the AB bootcamp....well stupid me--rather than starting on the floor as it says you can, I did it all on the decline bench....Kicked my ass but I felt good when I left the gym... Ok well most of yesterday and ALL of last night--and NOW THIS MORNING- I am in INTENSE pain....seriously. From just below my belly button to about half way down my quad. I am thinking what happened is the bootcamp was too intense for me (too much too soon) and I did not stretch as I should have....but I can't even get up hardly oh and my upper abs hurt like all heck too..... I am pretty bummed as this DEFINITELY affects my LBWO today, etc. Saturday on the way up to Dane Cook, I ate good...had a Shake with Fruit for breakfast, Cottage Cheese Treat, lots of water, then I figured since we were out and about that night I would " take my free meal then " and not on Sunday-- so I had a few Chicken Nachos, a bite of a club sandwich, like three french fries--and umm...err....here goes the problem--two margaritas....then at the comedy show *WHICH WAS AWESOME--got my picture with DANE---not as cute as I thought he was..haha*...with the two drink minimum, weak ole me rather than ordering DIET COKE or WATER, I get a THIRD margarita, a B52 Coffee Drink, and a HEFFENWiSen Beer....UGHHHHHHHHH and to wrap up the night I had two more margaritas at the local pub here. Which in turn made me feel like ARSE on Sunday, but I managed to eat clean---cc treat, myoplex bar, turkey and green beans with a piece of wheat bread, egg whites with veggies and a yogurt--- Anyway, I am pretty bummed as last week was REALLY good for me, I ate clean and worked out every day, now I am sooooooooooo SORE that EECH....either way, I am still eating clean- might just do UBWO today instead of LBWO, I am thinking that is better than nothing. And yeah, I am bummed that ALCOHOL was what I had on my " Free Day " --- I KNOW you aren't supposed to drink alchohol on BFL, right? and AAAAAAAAAHHHHH anyone been this sore, in the same spots, from Ab Bootcamp and such???? I am dyin here

Guest guest
Ice is a good suggestion. Ice and rest. I recently slipped on a tile floor and landed hard on my right hip. Numerous x-rays revealed a " tremendous amount of arthritis " in my lower back and spine (although my rheumy has insisted for years that the pain in my back couldn't be from arthritis). My family doctor couldn't understand why I wasn't in significant pain (I've grown tolerant of pain) and ordered me to three days complete bed rest, icing periodically throughout the day.  You know what? He was right on target. I recovered very quickly and a week later was back to my workout routine. At my follow-up appointment, he read to me from his case notes that he thought it would take me months to recover. Oh, I also broke a bone in my wrist when I fell, but felt no pain from it whatsoever. I guess that after being in daily pain for years, it no longer affects me the way it used to. I'm always aware of it, but have learned to live with it and accept it as part of my life. Very strange.  warm blessings, jane

Guest guest
It is usually pretty hard to get a doctor to prescribe any pain med without making an appt. Why don't you get into his office and allow him/her to see the trouble you are in. Hopefully that would resolve it.. Tom In a message dated 9/27/2008 11:55:08 P.M. Mountain Daylight Time, joyfulfeathers@... writes: Hi everyone, It's been awhile since I posted (laptop froze up and have been busy with work and in pain). I was doing pretty good with less pain by going to the chiropractor and massage therapy. Well, I've gone a bit backwards since the cooler weather has set in and the tree pollen (which I'm allergic to) has increased. The allergies cause me to get throat/upper chest congestion and I always begin to cough which causes my neck and upper back to get out of alignment. At least that's what my chiropractor and I think what's going on as that's the only change. That along with the knee and hip pain is causing me to only get about 3-4 hours of sleep per night. Sometimes I get lucky and get 5-6 hours. I called my doc and told them once again I was in pain and needed a refill or something for the pain. I never heard back. Why is it that I can't seem to get any docs to LISTEN to me that I'm in pain and give me something? My chiropractor can tell I'm in a lot of pain but he can't prescribe anything. I feel like I'm beating a dead horse so to speak. Actually I feel like the dead horse! I'm sick and tired of not getting help with the pain. I can barely even walk in the mornings let alone all day and I know it'll only get worse with winter coming. My neck is causing my head to hurt (migraine like pain) and my ears ring so loud I can't always hear everything when people talk to me. This really needs to get better.what am I to do??? My chiropractor feels badly and says to come in when I need an adjustment, which does help, but it still doesn't have lasting affects and of course doesn't help the knees at night. The worst thing at night and what wakes me up is the knee pain and if I'm on my back my neck pain will wake me up. I sit here and read how most of you guys all have pain meds and I have to say I'm a bit jealous. Not that I want a lot of pain meds, but at certain times of the year it's just really bad. Guest guest
Hi Dave, I feel I'm entitled to pain relief too. When I called, I said I'd come in if that's what was needed. I have to begin with my Primary care doc, so hopefully she'll just call in a script. She knows me very well and knows I won't ask for something until it's gotten pretty bad. I have seen her for this before too. She did call in a muscle relaxer which I am going to take tonight. Unfortunately it won't help with the bone pain in my neck and knees. They called in that script and never told me they did that.I had to call them back. I know if my doc knew that she'd be upset. We don't have a pain management doc here.also don't have an Osteopath.just Ortho docs and I haven't had ANY luck with them. My hubby works in corrections at the local jail and he has " customers " that ask for pain meds and the docs just hand it over. Why do they get it so easily and I don't get it at all? What am I doing wrong? I mean, I go in there in such pain that I'm crying and everything! My chiropractor can tell I need help but he can't prescribe anything. He really does feel for me. I wish more docs were like him. I do ice all the time. Even when numb I can still feel the sharp stabbing pain. My hands are tingling and the right one is slightly numb now. It's like I'm back at square one and we can't figure out why. Guest guest
Thanks Tom. I finally got some help but only due to the accident (we were rear ended). They did an MRI and found several bulged disks (from the accident). Post accident, I was on percocet for about two weeks (I only took it at night and occasioanlly on my days off I'd take a dose in the daytime), flexaril (still on that), and Lodine (anti-inflammatory, which also happens to help with the hip and kee pain). My regular doc also RX'd Darvocet but I haven't taken any. I don't want to until I find out if it would be OK with the flexaril and Lodine. The good news is my bones look great. Pre-accident the pain was caused by malalignment and muscles that were too tight all the time. I also now have ringing ears (it's quite loud!) and blurry vision (off and on) along with headaches. I still have the pain (shapr and burning) but it's slowly lessening. I have good days and bad. I don't know what is usually done for bulging disks. I'll have to do some research on that. Next week I have to start PT. Joi > > I am so sorry.... That is just not right.. Have you explored getting another > doctor.. Maybe you should. Guest guest
Hi Joi,     I'm so sorry about your accident. I dread getting into one myself. I have such bad stenosis in my neck that I could have trauma to my spinal cord.    I'm wondering if your airbag deployed during the accident. I've heard that the loud bang can result in very bad tinnitis, especially, if you are a passenger in the front seat and the driver's side airbag goes off. I'm thinking of wearing ear plugs when my husband drives.                                       Wishing you a speedy recovery,                                                                 Rochelle
