Guest guest
Hi I too have had issues with my Achilles tendons over the years. I was out walking one day, and I heard and felt a horrible " pop " . I dealt with the pain for almost 9 months before seeing a specialist. It turns out I had indeed torn my Achilles tendon. An MRI was done to pinpoint my problem. At the time my options were: 1. Get a steroid shot in the tendon.. ( risky) 2. Surgery to repair it. ( chancy...it could work, or not...) 3. put it in a cast for 6 months. I opted for the cast. I was very diligent about the whole thing... learned to drive with my left foot. After 4 months, my tendon had healed, and I no longer needed the cast. I wish I could tell you that I no longer have pain there, but that would be untrue. Some days it becomes inflamed, and I do my best to make sure not to overdo.. I stretch both of them out almost daily, as both sides of my body are equal opportunity. Good luck in your search for an answer... J.J.
