How do you WORK?

I'm tired and I'm sick and I'm only on the second week of methotrexate and

prednisone. I'm bursting into tears at any stupid thing, and I still hurt like

hell.

So how do you do this and work?

hi paige,welcome! i'm on 5mgs.of prednisone & w/o it i would not b able to

function at all,SERIOUSLY....

i've been on it for about 20 yrs.or so but DEVELOPED OSTEOPOROSIS!!! it sux cuz

any lil fall i break

a bone or fracture one...... i'm soooooo tired but it's what i have to do to

take care of my family.

right now the only pain med i'm on is TRAMADOL........ it works but then it

doesn't.....

i think it's cuz my pain is so severe!!!!!!!!!! i also take mtx 7pills every

friday.does it work mmm ur guess is as good as mine!!!!!!!!!!!!! but then again

i've been on it a long time as well.......

Tell your Rheumatologist. Get him/her to increase your prednisone. I couldn't

have kept working without it. High doses for flares, low daily dose to try and

keep things quiet. The down-side of being on prednisone for extended periods

(i.e. years) is you can develop other problems -- for me, osteoporosis.

I couldn't take heavy-duty pain pills and still work or drive.

The methotrexate will take several weeks to work -- if it does (didn't work for

me). If you get to three months and it still isn't working, it probably won't.
