Guest guest
Rheumy visit today. Both he and my primary doctor to NOT feel that the stomach issues I have are from Arava. They feel that I have antibiotic induced C-Diff. http://mayoclinic.com/health/c-difficile/DS00736 To make a long story short, once I have the tests saying yay or nay to the cdiff, I will resume treatment. Of course, if it IS C-Diff I will complete treatment for that and then resume. If it isn't C-diff, I will have to see a gastroenterologist and find out what is causing this! *~ Kami ~*

Guest guest
Yes. My family doctor had given me a slip to have " samples " checked for CDiff on Thursday. Friday I went to my rheumatologist and told him why I had not resumed Arava after my throat infection. He asked which antibiotic (Avelox) and told me he would suspect CDiff. I said... " Funny you should say that..... " My stomach issues started back in January, though... Few weeks after starting Arava, I had a stomach virus. It feels like I never recovered from that...... I remember being on an antibiotic in December for a sinus infection. Could all of this be related? Who knows! What I do know is I want this current bout of chronic disrrhea to go away! I blacked out on Sunday night on my back porch and have no memory of what happened. I went to the ER yesterday and had a CAT scan, xrays, bloodwork, etc run and everything came back okay. They think my BP dropped due to dehydration. I guess chronic diarrhea will do that! Now I am not allowed to drive until I am cleared by my physician. *~ Kami ~* Re: [ ] Going back on Arava Kami, Both physicians came to the same conclusion independently?
