I'm wondering if Red Bull or those 5 hour energy things would work..... *~ Kami ~* [ ] anyone else dealing with crazy fatigue? Hey yall, I know summertime heat can be really draining to those of us with autoimmune disorders. But the past few weeks I've been so tired that I can barely make it to work. I spend the day fantasizing about crawling into my wonderful bed as soon as I get home, and that's what I do as soon as I can! However, with a family, housework, and taking care of business, that's not something I can just do every day! Has anyone found something that helps with getting the energy level up a bit? I have hypertension so I avoid the things that have a lot of caffeine in them. My primary dx's are psor.A. and fibro. I'm not anemic right now so I guess my iron's ok....have had probs with that in the past. Love and a big old Texas size hug to the group.... Guest guest
Hi Jane: I know just what you mean about being so tired. That is how I have been for the last 3 weeks. Other than that, I feel good. I am taking iron vitamins each day to bring up my blood count. Perhaps you need a blood re-check to see if yours is down. I also have a very low thyroid, which acts up from time to time. That makes me very tired. A blood test will show if that is it. I wish I had something to make us not so tired, but I don't. I just rest a lot when feeling like this. I know it is very hard for you to do this with an active family, and working. Maybe if everyone pitchers in, lightens your load, so you can rest when you get home from work. I do hope your tiredness lessens, and that you start to feel better soon. Hugs, Barbara > > Hey yall, I know summertime heat can be really draining to those of us with autoimmune disorders. But the past few weeks I've been so tired that I can barely make it to work. Guest guest
Me too!!!! And it doesn't help that we have a 100 degree heat index today! I've tried Red Bull - it gave me an upset stomach. So does anything else with caffiene. But my dear grandmother who is 90 yrs young, swears by bee pollen pills - (there's some kind of b-12 I think in them)... I've never tried it but after the day I am having today, I am willing to try it myself! ltdavis_jrdavis@... From: ~Kami~ <kamilleon@...> Subject: Re: [ ] anyone else dealing with crazy fatigue? Guest guest
I am almost sure that you can get them at like CVS drugstore - I am pretty sure that I have seen them there. My grandmother orders them thru the mail but she doesn't get out. Now - I have never heard about bee pollen and inflammation - is it supposed to help? I know I take about 10,000 IU of fish oil capsules a day - my RA doc said that it helps inflammation in some people as well as can naturally lower cholestrol - I haven't been taking long enough to know yet. ltdavis_jrdavis@... Guest guest
Hi All, I did try the five hour energy shots and although they did boost my energy level for a few hours, they also gave me bad headaches. GP said it was because I have blood pressure so the med for that and the ingredients in 5 hour did not mix well together. My energy level now has increased but that is because I was so sick before. I do know that if I do not take my meds or run out I get so tired and cannot function at all. Even the ones for pain. For instance I was out of my pain meds on Sunday, and could barely get off the couch. So tired and groggy I honestly did not think I would make it through the day. Another thing that helps me is Vitamin D. When I get overly tired and groggy feeling I up my doses. May be all in my head, but I honestly believe it helps me. Guest guest
Vicki, It's not in your head about the vit. D. It's good for all sorts of things - because I've had such a deficiency in this area, I've read all sorts of studies saying it takes care of all sorts of things from tiredness to preventing cancer! And it's interesting that you'd post about tiredness. I've also been tired, and just too tired to think about why, lol. I had blood work done for my rheumy yesterday and she called me today and said that I'm wayyyyyyyyyyyy anemic and need to get to my PCP. I'm always a bit anemic and I really should have thought of that as being the culprit for my tiredness! Holland -- Re: [ ] anyone else dealing with crazy fatigue? Guest guest
Jane, I know how you feel, the weather is horrible. The humidity is so awful here, you can hardly breathe. I try to do all my shopping, at night. I will even shop at 4-5 in the morning, crazy I know. When your feeling like this, just do little as possible. The housework isn't going anywhere, so just put it off a bit. I can't do all my work, so I do a little each day, and that is the best I can do. I take cymbalta now for the fibro, and girl it's so wonderful. The fibro pain is gone, it's just amazing. Just takecare of yourself, and stay cool, Tawny > > Hey yall, I know summertime heat can be really draining to those of us with autoimmune disorders. Guest guest
Thanks Tawny. I take Lyrica and it helps with the pain a lot. We just have so much going on- Chas just got back from a mission trip overseas, she had 120 kids and chaperones she was supervising. This past weekend, she got engaged- proposed on saturday! We went wedding gown shopping last night with her best friend, and it was wonderful. Exhausting but wonderful. As you know she's a missionary and has sponsors that support her. One of my contributions to her ministry is having some of her sponsors over for dinner from time to time. We have guests tomorrow night, and I always want to have things " just so. " She of course helps out but is gone so much for work that most of it falls on me. I love doing it, don't get me wrong, hospitality is one of my gifts I guess. but when I get this tired it's just hard, you know? I am planning on coming home friday night and putting on my jammies...at 5 o'clock! You stay cool and rested too, girl. I know Oklahoma is as bad as Texas in the summer. Guest guest
I'm glad to hear it's helping you also. I am so happy, to have found that med. I've been in pain for years, and the pain is so much better to deal with. I know meds are different for everyone, but it's a miracle drug for me:) Take care, Tawny --- In , <ltdavis_jrdavis@...> wrote: > > I agree Cymbalta is great! Guest guest
Jane, I'm glad the Lyrica helps the pain. I didn't realize the fibro pain can be so painful. I always blame the pain on the RA, and now I know not to do that now. Oh what good news!!!! It's amazing, she's getting married:) I know you are happy, she is an amazing girl, I know you are beaming with pride. You get in your jammies fast as you can scoot, girl! You deserve it, you are always on the go. I hope this weekend, will be all about you. It's time for some R & R! Don't make me come to TX in this awful heat, lol Oh yes, we have the same weather basically. It's like a oven, with no relief in site. At least were getting a little rain though. Take care my friend, Tawny > > Thanks Tawny. I take Lyrica and it helps with the pain a lot.
