Guest guest
I'm not sure where to begin this post. I too am tired all of the time, except at night. It's as if my days and nights are mied up. I'm on MTX, Fentanyl patch, plus enough other meds to keep my happy but I'm still feeling lousy! My hands/wrists ache all the time as do my feet. I've developed asthma, have migraaines, etc., carpal tunnel plus the spine is falling apart from C-1 down through L-2. I get spinal blocks for that. I also have sleep apnea and hate that c-pap machine as I'm never comfortable when I use it. Due to the exhaustion, I'm normally in bed for 3-4 days per week. I just returned from a trip to NJ to see my daughter and grandchildren and I can tell you that I'm really aching and tired. Don't they shoot horses in this condition? Has anyone got a secret medication that helps them function? If so, please let me know. Gotta run...my hands are now numb and I can barely type. Guest guest
Judy, Sorry you feel so bad. I felt that way for a long way, but I am feeling better. I still have pain every day, but it's calmed down quite a bit. I still have fatigue always, but I really think its just a part of the health issues, plus all the meds. I had a lot of fibro pain, and I've got it in control with, cymbalta. It's just amazing to me, and I know some probably think it's all I talk about, but I just want people to know, if your living with this type of pain, try it, and see if it works. You might talk to your doctor, and see if there is a new med for you. There are a lot of meds to try, and I hope the doc can find the right one. I sure hope you feel better soon, cause I know it's not easy to be in constant pain, I was 8 yrs, and just now getting a little relief. Take care, Tawny > > I'm not sure where to begin this post. Guest guest
Hi Judy - I'm sorry you're feeling so bad. Do you see a Rheumatologist? I only ask because I would think they'd have you on more than just the MTX for your RA. I have nights where I'm so exhausted, but just can't sleep, too. Perhaps you are in a flare and should have prednisone added to the mix. Please call your Rheumy. You shouldn't have to suffer in pain. I also have sleep apnea - I'm wondering if your mask isn't fitting right or if you should try a different style altogether. By the time I was diagnosed with it, I was so exhausted that they could have covered my head with a plastic bag and as long as I could breathe, I wouldn't care. I had carpal tunnel syndrome and had surgery on both hands for it. The way they do it now with a small incision in the wrist is so much better than the way they used to cut the palm open - and the healing is so much quicker. I know how aching and tired you are feeling - I feel that way after just an afternoon with the grands - but wouldn't trade it for the world. I just know and plan on resting until I can get my spoons recharged. If you haven't done so, please check out: http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/navigation/BYDLS-TheSpoonTheory.pdf It really helps to put things into perspective. There have been times that I've asked my husband to just take me out behind the shed and shoot me like an old dog. He never seems to find the humor in that, but I guess dark humor is part of who I am at times. Praying you're feeling better soon. Keep us posted.
