Guest guest
...I can relate to the anorexia. I have never been a big eater but now have to make myself remember to eat. I am not dropping weight but can see where my appetite is not like it used to be. I'm still at my normal weight. My rheumy said some of the r/a meds can suppress your appetite. I've been on enbrel for quite some time. It's been wonderful for me. paula ************** Huge Savings on Popular Laptops only at Dell.com. Shop Now! Guest guest
Hi Clora - I was on Enbrel for about 6 mths - did not use the self mix but the other. I never had a problem with injection site reactions, etc. However, I had a very, very rare side effect - anerexia. I dropped 20 lbs in one month and then I was weighing myself 5x a day! Never had an eating disorder before and it IS a RARE side effect, but other than that, it was like a miracle drug. I had NO RA symptoms AT ALL. I don't think I would've ever gone off if it had they not been monitoring my weight (I am on the low side of the scale to begin with). I think you will be happy with it. Good Luck & hugs + kisses! ltdavis_jrdavis@... I use the self mix because I don't like the burn with pre mixed. I used humira and the burn upon injection NEVER went away. It caused me a lot of problems. The humira has a caustic acid in their ingred. whereas Enbrel didn't show it in their premix ingred...but i didn't want to take the chance. I'm sure you'll love the enbrel. I also take darvocet for pain. Good luck..think you'll be happy. Give it time. Hugs..paula and yes, I reported it to FDA. am starting Enbrel in about a week. I was on humirra injections. My rheumy said the humirra wasn't working. I been taking it for a long time. I thought the humirra worked since it stopped the pain. My RA said my blood test had a low count of the RA. I forget what it's called, She said mine was a 4 and normal was 18. Sue I haven't had bad severe pain from RA for a long time. I had to quit sulvazaline and plaqunil because I became allergic to it. So basically I was only getting Injections for the RA. I am hoping it is going into recession. My rhuemy gave me some darvacet pain pills to take for pain. I don't need it half the time. Sue I still have pain but not like it was. I also have flare ups from time to time. I would like information about enbrel also. Yeast infections. Ugh I get them so easy. Yes, antibiotics will cause yeast infections, so when I get antibiotic, I get the yeast medication too. Haven't had a yeast infection since the last time I took antibiotics. I am so glad you brought this up. If anyone takes Enbrell please give us info on it. I am interest in anything anyone has to say on the subject of Enbrell God bless, I care, Clora ************ ** Huge Savings on Popular Laptops only at Dell.com. Shop Now! Guest guest
Some of us would like it if Enbrel caused us to lose a little weight. I'm not overweight, but I am at the top end of normal for my height. I'd like to be 10-15 pounds lighter, but my body won't agree to it, LOL. Clora, Enbrel has worked wonderfully well for me. I've been on it for over five years, and have had few side effects. Occasionally I have a mild injection site reaction, about like a mosquito bite. I also use the twice-weekly that I mix myself; I just like it better than the other. I'm sorry that the Humira did not work well for you, and I hope that the Enbrel will do the trick. Good luck!
