Hi all,

Yesterday I went to dr with congestion and earache. She prescribed amoxillin.

When I went to get it filled the pharmacist said she needed to call the dr.

beccause it showed a reaction with MTX. I was switched to Keflex. I thought

she said it would reduce the effects of MTX. I was looking on www.heathline.com

at drug rinteractions, and I think it said the side effects of MTX would be

worse.

Is this why some of you don't take MTX while on antobiotics? I have been on MTX

about 20 yr and no one has ever said to not take them together.

Also I noticed that Nexium and MTX could also affect the level of Vitamin B12.

Fatique is one of the symptoms of deficency of B12.

Thanks to all of you for sharing info.

Hi - I've always stopped my MTX with antibiotics, but always thought they

would work better without it. Interesting the things we find out.

Also interesting how Nexium and MTX affect B12 levels. I wonder if Zantac has

the same effect. Thanks for sharing this info with us - hope you feel better

soon.....Doreen :)
