Pain management referrals?

Hi all,

Although I feel like my RA and Fibromyalgia is managed pretty well, I have been

having a lot of pain lately that is almost debilitating. I see my

rheumatologist on Wednesday, and I am going to ask for a pain management

referral.

Do any of you have experience with getting a referral to a pain management

specialist? Did you have trouble with your doctor refusing? What route(s) did

you take to get help?

For reference, I am 31, diagnosed with RA at 9 and fibro at 29. I take .4 ml

injectable methotrexate weekly, an Orencia infusion monthly, Cymbalta, Lyrica,

and Ultram-ER as needed.
