good morning a, and everyone.... happy new year ....

the ultram was like taking nothing for me. it didn't help me at

all. dr. has me on oxycontin now, with lortab for break through pain.

sometimes, on rainy days like today, ... nothing helps too much.

i hope ou find the right one for yourself. everyone is different, what

works for one , may not work for the other person.

Thanks ...what is the dosage, if you don't mind.... glad its

working for you. I didn't have much pain relief at all with the ultram.

I also take Lortab. Tramadol (Ultracet) did help with pain but gave me

bad side effects so my doctor switched me. I have been on Lortab (or

hydrocodone when I was in Europe) for 6 years now with no problems.

Thanks Betty...its going to rain all day in Ohio. Temps in the 50's then

back to reality tomorrow...28 degrees.

I know someone else who takes the oxycontin and it works great for her.

Thank you for your input. I have a rheumy that listens to my suggestions.

I feel blessed for that.

Thank you so much .... I was worried when they banned the darvocet

since I'd been taking it for so long...but glad to know other meds that will

help also.

Have a blessed 2011.

Hello all

I am allergic to the Oxycontin, Loritab, Percocet, etc..  Darvocet was the only

thing I could take that would kill the pain and not my stomach.  My doctor gave

me Ultram and Tylenol 3 and neither did anything for the pain.  My doctor gave

me Methadone 10mg.  I can take 1-2 tabs every 6 hours.  It works great.  I

was

SO happy.  It is something I can take and still function and do things.  It is

something you can discuss with your doctor.  Hope this helps.

Oh No ...that's a shame. Darvocet always helped me immensely. I

heard they're going to reformat it but everyone is mum on that right now. I'd

been taking the darvocet for 15 plus years without a problem.

I'll speak to my rheumy about the methadone also and see what he has to

say. so glad you were able to find something that worked for you...that's

wonderful!

Thank you for that info ..... I'm so glad that you're doing well

with that dosage.

I didn't know that about the ratio..good to know.

I take 5/500 and that has been steady. At that dose, I am still able to

live a normal life (no sleepiness) and my pain level is at a level I don't

normal notice. When I do have some more problems like recently, I get an

injection.

There is also a dose of 10/500 and I am not sure if there are any higher.

THe small number refers to the hydrocodone and the large number to

acetaminophen. Hope this helps.
