Guest guest
Hi Janice, Well I'm glad you found us here. I'm sorry you have had no luck getting through to me at home. One computer, three users!!! It's always busy!!! I have Healthnet HMO and I had the DS with Dr. Anthone at USC in February 1998. Sounds like your medical group may be the problem. Why pay for the DS if they can get away with paying for an RNY? Typical Healthnet. I'd appeal and get what you want. And RNY can be performed distal or proximal. UCLA does proximal. In my opinion you don't want either one without the DS. Try calling me at work during the day. I'm easier to reach there! I'll let you know about both of my surgeries and both of my appeals. I was successful on both counts. Tami in Paso Robles, CA P.S. Randy (girl) also had the DS with Dr. A and she has Healthnet, too. So did Jenice Layton......hmmm, let's see....who else? >>Hi--- Just call me JJ. I live in Ventura CA and am pursuing the DS surgery .....preferably with Dr. Rabkin.....I received an approval in two weeks from Healthnet HMO to UCLA for the RNY........the problem is I requested the DS from Rabkin.......think I can get them on a technicality ? Also.....they said that Healthnet does not acknowledge the " distal gastric bypass " as a medically accepted treatment for obesity......now...isn't the RNY a form of distal gastric bypass surgery ? Another technicality i would like to get them on ! Any way......I think that the IPA is the real problem here.......any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Not having internet access at home....except through friends is going to be a challenge for me........took me three hours to go through 240 messages tonight.....and a very tolerant friend ! My e-mail is jejjejjej@... Thanks for all the info.....and support.....and best of luck to all of us ! JJ
