VIEWPOINT GALLERY ANNUAL ACQUISITIONS EXHIBITION BY ARTISTS WITH

DISABILITIES

Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital, located in Schenectady, New York is

the

home of the Viewpoint Gallery. For over 70 years, Sunnyview has been

leading the field of physical rehabilitation services in New York. In an

effort to expand on its desire to improve the lives of people with

disabilities, the gallery collects artwork created exclusively by

artists

with physical disabilities. By exhibiting works of art throughout the

facility, we hope that our growing collection will inspire patients and

visitors alike to reach beyond limitations and encourage everyone to

explore

their own abilities and creativity.

The acquisitions exhibition is a juried exhibition. It is open to all

artists with physical disabilities, regardless of experience or formal

training, Professional, amateur and recreational artists are all

invited.

There are no entry fees and all work considered must be for sale. Art

must

be original or numbered limited fine art prints in editions of 50 or

less.

Other eligible forms include paintings, drawings, photography,

sculpture,

textiles and functional art. Slide submission deadline is JANUARY 6,

2001.

Exhibition dates: April 26 - May 19, 2001 with the possibility of

extended

dates to accommodate other exhibition venues.
