Guest guest
Hi Michele, Well, I would say that you have to pick a main motivator. For me it was wanting to be a more involved Mom to my two babies. I at least wanted to be able to change their diapers - which I was unable to do for a while!! So that kept me focused on the goal. I did allow myself two sweets - that were actually suggested by the doctor and are good for you! I bought a jar of Coconut Butter and some Agave Nectar. I would scoop out a tablespoon of Coconut butter and drizzle on some agave nectar. It tastes like icing...it's so good. And the coconut butter is loaded with healthy fat, so it's good for your joints AND your brain function! The agave is like a honey and it's a GREAT substitute for sugar - I put it in my (decaf!) tea every day. Once you kind of *detox* your body, you can allow yourself sweets here and there. I have been known to eat a big bowl of Ben and Jerry's while watching The Bachelor on Monday nights...but I'll deny it if anyone asks me. LOL! Hope that helps! kate. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/gavinleong From: tango.dream <tango.dream@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Thinking about getting pregnant Date: Thursday, January 21, 2010, 11:30 PM What an inspiration! I'm looking into various dietary changes because the meds I've finally been put on, while easing the RA symptoms a bit, are taking a toll on my energy and I'm depressed all the time. I'm getting tired of the medical roller coaster I've been on. You have inspired me. Can you give some tips/tricks on how to kick the cravings for carbs and sweets? How long did it take and how hard was it? You certainly have your hands full! Kudos to you. Michele
