Guest guest
I read somewhere that he was going to try to start a band while in rehab. That should be interesting, if it's true. I know that he can play the piano. Guest guest
Ok.... now guys.....other than the fact that he is a pill-popping doc, wouldn't it be nice if we all had a doc that was only concerned with finding the answers + the solutions? Just once? yeah, the good 'ole doc could defintely use a course in bed side manner,(and even though he's " fictional " ), he's smart as $%^#!!............. I would take that over bed side manner just once!! With all the " lame-a** " docs I have seen, that had neither the knowledge, the care of my well being OR the bed side manner, I'd take a knuckle head - pill popping doc that wanted to find an anwser in a minute!! Have a great 4th everyone!! ltdavis_jrdavis@... > Sue, > > My sources tell me that he also plays guitar. > > > > Not an MD
Guest guest
Yes, we all would like a doctor with at least SOME of the attributes of House. But I do have some good doctors. I like my endocrinologist, but I tell him that he makes me do all the work, LOL. I also like my rheumy, and I think he takes good care of me. But I absolutely loved my former rheumy, who relocated to Atlanta. Guest guest
Amen to that, !! Even if it took him a whole hour like it does on TV - LOLOLOL - seriously, though. I wish there were more doctors like him that are more concerned with getting to the source of the problem rather than how many patients they can see in an hour......Doreen Ok.... now guys.....other than the fact that he is a pill-popping doc, wouldn't it be nice if we all had a doc that was only concerned with finding the answers + the solutions? Guest guest
My daughter endured another nail biopsy on Wednesday. When prescribing pain meds, her doctors talked to us about this. Their take: Tylenol (acetaminophen) is the most dangerous OTC medication on the market. Why? Liver Damage. Because of the way it has been marketed in the past, people feel that Tylenol is safe to take with anything... INCLUDING Vicodin and Percocet. When people do not get relief from heavy duty pain meds, they will add Tylenol. At first they prescribed Tylenol #3, warning: NO ADDITIONAL TYLENOL. They had to up her to Vicodin and again: NO ADDITIONAL TYLENOL! I have a feeling this is going to get ugly! *~ Kami ~* [ ] Dr. House, get prepared. Ban Is Advised on 2 Top Pills for Pain Relief , Dr. House had better hope that his rehab works to break his addiction to Vicodin! Ban Is Advised on 2 Top Pills for Pain Relief By GARDINER HARRIS Published: June 30, 2009 ADELPHI, Md. — A federal advisory panel voted narrowly on Tuesday to recommend a ban on Percocet and Vicodin, two of the most popular prescription painkillers in the world, because of their effects on the liver. The two drugs combine a narcotic with acetaminophen, the ingredient found in popular over-the-counter products like Tylenol and Excedrin. High doses of acetaminophen are a leading cause of liver damage, and the panel noted that patients who take Percocet and Vicodin for long periods often need higher and higher doses to achieve the same effect. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/01/health/01fda.html?th & emc=th Sue ------------------------------------
Guest guest
Happy 4th of July everyone... I read the article on the ban and I am TOTAllY confused. Are they banning them when they are combined w/ OTC or banning them both indivually? I take percocet on a daily basis; would this ban prohibte my doc from prescribing it for me? I don't take OTC stuff because of my RA meds and pain meds. I know how many to take my medication, I don't abuse my meds. Am I just SOL now?!?!? > > , Dr. House had better hope that his rehab works to break his > addiction to Vicodin! > > > Ban Is Advised on 2 Top Pills for Pain Relief > > By GARDINER HARRIS > Published: June 30, 2009 > ADELPHI, Md. — A federal advisory panel voted narrowly on Tuesday to > recommend a ban on Percocet and Vicodin, two of the most popular > prescription painkillers in the world, because of their effects on the > liver. > > The two drugs combine a narcotic with acetaminophen, the ingredient > found in popular over-the-counter products like Tylenol and Excedrin. > High doses of acetaminophen are a leading cause of liver damage, and > the panel noted that patients who take Percocet and Vicodin for long > periods often need higher and higher doses to achieve the same effect. > > > > http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/01/health/01fda.html?th & emc=th > > > > Sue >
Guest guest
, The FDA hasn't banned them yet, but they probably will. If they do, both Percocet and Vicodin will no longer be available. Guest guest
Boy if they think they have a lot of people applying for disability now just wait if they ban these meds. > > Happy 4th of July everyone... > > > > I read the article on the ban and I am TOTAllY confused.
