Hi All,

I am trying to help a friend of all of us here. Janie has been

having troubles since her decompression in 9/99. She has alot of the

same type symptoms since surgery and then some. I know she has a

syrinx and I believe tethered cord. The reason I am writing is that

she just recently had a myelgram on this past Monday. She went to

the hospital due to you have to lay flat on your back for 8 hrs or

more. She went in w/a normal temp of 97.5. Later that evening after

sleeping she woke up with a terrible headache and vomiting. Tuesday

morning she had a temp of 102.

They took lots of tests. One of her blood tests came back with a

high white blood cell count ie infection. She has been on IV anti-

biotics till this afternoon and begging to come home and she is now

at home.

Her dr told her myelgram came back okay as far as it didn't show any

scar tissue but her tonsils were farther down but basically Chiari is

a non-curable disorder and she would have to live with the symptoms

as is. They also did a brain scan and she will have the results next

week. I believe she would like some opinions from others here that

may know or have experienced this type of testing/infections etc. I

think I have more or less given you all the info that I know or

remember.

She said she has wanted to post to the group about this and ask

opinions and doesn't feel well so I am doing it for her. My info may

not be exact so I am going to post her email (she said it is okay,

she wants answers) I know she is asking for prayers and I am sure

lotsa' HUGz would be welcome too.

Her email is........dupuysrus@... (Janie in Louisiana)

Thanks All!!
