,

I was switched on seizure medication a few times and what my neurologist had me do was take one away while adding one of the other one. Then maybe three days later I would switch out one for the other again, until I was finally on the new medication only. Hope this helps.

,

I know nothing about weaning from one medication to another.

But I do think I can give some encouraging words about your emotional

condition. When you get to the point of despare, tell yourself, THIS IS A

TEMPORARY STATE I AM IN.

Some times we get so involed in feeling down that we do not see an end to the

misery. I'm sure you often heard, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

Tell yourself this: it is a passing thing. Who knows it may take some time to

get you back under control with the seizures but it will happen.

And if you find that this does not work go get some help from a counselor,

parents, friends. Anyone who can encourage you. Suicide is not the answer,

getting you at your best is the answer.

My prayers will be with you and I know you will make it through the hard

times to get to the good times. Hang in there kiddo.

Sincerely,

Tracey

One other thing we've found out the hard way is that

you can experience withdrawl seizures when going off

meds and/or going from one med to another. If you do

notice an increase in seizures, keep this in mind,

because " it, too, may pass. " Most neuros don't

acknowledge withdrawl seizures, although there are

many who do.--D

I'm not exactly sure how this was going to help me while I was sick last

week. But anyway, of course I have. I wouldn't be on this list if I

hadn't. But I'm sure you know as well as I do that it's helpful to sort

things out one at a time. That way you know what's helping and what's not.

Remember, there are two things that keep us oppressed: them and us. We are

half of the equation. There will not be a magic day when we wake up and

its now OK to express ourselves publicly. We must make that day ourselves,

by speaking out publicly first in small numbers, then in greater numbers,

until its simply the way things are and no one thinks twice.

Yeah, thanks for that. I think my neurologist may have told me to take too

much away before I started the new one. We'll see how I go with a

different neuro.

Thank you for the warning, this is exactly what happened. I had seizures

about every 10 minutes for 4 hours. Pretty exhausting, even though they

were only absence seizures.

I made the dreaded call to my doctor's office today regarding my Humira stopping

So... I thougt I had my mind made up on Remicade. Now... I don't know if I can

handle the infusions. I am looking again at Simponi.

Is anyone here taking this medication?

I feel like I am having BUYERS REMORSE after telling them to start the

preauthorization for Remicade. LOL I just... Well... I'm pissed Humira has

Hi Kami:  Sorry to read that you are feeling awful.  I hope your next choice

of meds. works well for you so you can get out of all your pain.  It stinks

" cocktail " of meds. to help us out.

I hope you begin to feel better soon.

Hugs,
