Guest guest
, I also have all three tick-borne diseases and I experience something similar. Expect the buring is on the right side of my body mostly. It is sometimes in my feet, leg, arm,and head. Mostly in my leg. It feels like there is a small fire inside that area. I briefly mentioned it to my lyme doctor. My next visit I will talk to her about it. She said it could be nerve damage. It doesn't hurt it's just a weird sensation. I hope you feel better soon. It does not hurt, but it began to scare me last night as it would not go away and we didn't know the cause. I can't blame it on meds because at the moment I'm waiting for the insurance to be straightened out and I'm not taking any meds at all. If anyone finds out what the cause of this is, I would really like to know. Thanks a bunch, and hope everyone is feeling better!
Guest guest
Dear lisa, I too have the burning feet in bed, and I'm always moving my feet around for a cool spot in the bed. I believe it has to do with lyme, I think t is a neuropathy. I find that if I'm on my feet alot that day, at night my feet burn. Let me know if the dr prescribes something for it. Thanks, KAREN
Guest guest
Hi , Don't laugh, but my feet will burn unless I wear only the thin cotton socks. Anything with a " knit " to it or thinkness will make my feet burn at the end of the day. Took me years to figure it out. It is hard finding those kinds of socks, everything is the thicker " knit " look. But my burning went away when I quit wearing those socks. LOL, Connie
Guest guest
HI Guys, I am not making fun of the burning sensations, I know they are serious, just wanted to let you know what helped my feet, but no where else. Connie, with humor
Guest guest
, & , The burning sensation is caused by neuropathy and is part of this disease. I recently started taking Neurontin for this and it has helped somewhat. I am taking 100mg 3 times a day, but I know others take more. Here is a good website that may explain this further for you: http://www.neuropathy-trust.org/ Here is a web-site about the drug Neurontin: http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/6028/nfaq.htm Hope this is useful for you, Marta

Sometimes men's dress socks can be found that are that very smooth knit, almost like stockings. And sometimes I see things called " trouser socks " for women that are really just knee-hi stockings with a slightly thicker fabric (and 3 times the price of knee highs, of course....) :-) My mother, who was diagnosed with MS but whom I now believe had Lyme, used to sit with her feet in a pair of men's galoshes (the big black kind with buckles) which she filled with water, to cool her burning feet. When my first boyfriend came to pick me up for my very first date, she was sitting there on the porch in her nightie with those big galoshes on. (Thanks, mom....) My boyfriend was of course a little taken aback, but finally politely asked her why she was wearing them. She told him " They have water in them to keep my feet cool. " He said, " Next time I come, I'll bring you some goldfish! " From that moment, I loved him and she hated him.... :-) Jean

Guest guest
Hi , Yes, I have had that symptom, sometimes it feels as if someone is holding a match on the bottom of my foot. My doctor told me that is peripheral neuropathy. I take Neurontin now, and haven't had it since I started. Guest guest
Aikya, Would like to hear more about the burning feet sensation. I have mentioned to my rheumatologists numerous times that my feet are either numb and else feel like they are on fire, primarily under the ball of my foot whenever I stand for even a short length of time. No specific suggestions were made by my regular doctor except to rub some cream like Flexal on them. (Which has absolutely no effect.) I was quite surprised at one checkup with a research group when the doctor to whom I had described this immediately said, " oh that wouldn't be the rheumatoid arthritis. " OK, this leaves me to wonder just what then it might be? Would like to hear a few more details of your experience with the problem and any solutions you have found. Guest guest
Hi Betsy It's only recently that I've been able to identify a cause for the foot burning. For me it comes along with swollen ankles and it always follows having eaten something with corn, corn syrup, corn starch, maltodextrin in it, usually without realizing the ingredient was in whatever it was. It follows quite a few hours after like maybe six or eight. Check the ingredients in things you have taken or eaten within the day before the burning foot thing shows up. Maybe for you it isn't corn that does it, but that's what brings the flame to my soles without fail! Extra vitamin C (not more than 1500 mg over the course of a day or my thyroid goes on vacation), B6 and B2 at half the dose of the B6, plus sometimes putting my feet up usually helps. Guest guest
Could it be neuropathy? Is he taking a high dose of B-6? I remember when I was investigating giving B-6 there was mention of neuropathy being a result of B-6 toxicity. Also, I read that as a possible side effect of some anti-psychotic drugs as well. Guest guest
Dear , I frequent many MS websites and lists as I have a friend with this illness. " Burning feet " seems to be a hot topic amongst those afflicted and as I see a strong tie between MS is consistent with mercury poisoning I would say that your childs feet problems might be associated with high mercury levels. If you havent already done so, visit the list on and get more information there. Its been an extremely important source of inspiration for me. [ ] Burning feet Hello, My son has been complaining about his feet. He says they burn. Does anyone know why this would happen???? I have looked at his feet for signs of fungus.......nothing. He does not scratch them . They look good to me but he tells me everyday his feet burn. Any ideas? .

Is he newly gfcf or have you added anything new or removed anything lately? My son's feet are extra sensitive to him right now, because he is starting to have normal sensation, which he interprets as extreme sensation. Guest guest
Dear , I've had that problems once in awhile when I've been on my feet too long and my shoes are tight and don't allow my feet to breathe. As your son may have oversensitivity in his feet area, maybe his feet actually feel like they are burning to him. Sorry I couldn't be more of a help and pinpoint his distress.
