Guest guest
Hi Bob,Sorry it took me so long to reply to your earlier message. I was getting my groups mail bounced off my attbi email account for several days and then didn't feel well for a while.I too have CHF and also Long QT. I also seem to Pottasium dump at times. What all of this means together is that if I do too much (which is very little for others and myself in the old days) I end up retaining water big time, my heart often goes in to minor A-Fib at night and it messes up my sleep often causing insomnia. Not to forget the shortness of breath while doing it. I took my daughter to her recital sat for nearly 5 hours and drove home and that was all it took. Sad!!! My mind pushes to do but my body revolts....hell of a life for a 43 year old single mom. This is a great group of people and it has definately helped to read about others struggles and to know that I am not alone and that some people even understand my pain. My family knows that I nearly died during my Cardiac Arrest but they have trouble handling the outcome of that event and how much it has changed me mentally and physically. Many of you have been here and understand.Meds do screw up weight loss. I am still trying to sort out how to get a surgeon to do the gastric bypass surgery but since Feb/Mar I have lost 22lbs. A drop in the bucket but it is a start!!!!Take care Bob and think of me when you are boating. I used to love to waterski and drive around in the boat. -------Original Message-------From: Date: Thursday, May 30, 2002 06:50:20 PM Subject: hi lisahi lisa,,what a nice letter you wrote just a bit ago..i sure hope things improve for you.. ive written to you before and i dont know if ive told you very much about me..for 58 years i was a hard playing, hard drinking, heavy smoking big guy, along with a 20 year police career.at 58 my ended (or so i thought). i went to the hospital with viral pneumonia which turned out to be congestive heart failure with an ejection fraction of 10. with coreg my e.f. increased to 35 over the next few months...i have a feeling next month i will find it higher cause i can do more and more each day.i was about to commit suicide just a bit over a year ago. i found this group and they pulled me out of the deep hole i had dug for myself.but, i will say this....i had to force myself to get my tail off the couch and do what i could, even though i have to do it slowly. we have a 200 foot long boat ramp here in my community and it is rather steep...last year i had to rest three times before reaching the top..now i can do it without any rest at all til i get to the top....maybe then i rest a minute and walk to my car...im proud of that.hoping you feel better,, bob in pa PS: ive even gained 40 more pounds since last year. cant seem to get a handle on that and the docs tell me the medicines i take sure wont help weight loss.../____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click
Guest guest
Hi Thanks for the input on the Rituxan.I cant take mtx either. You telling me how you are having the infusions has made me feel better about having them. Thanks very much Joyce mdn Hi Joyce - If you don't mind, I wanted to " chime " into your question about Rituxan - I have had 2 infusions - and I love it!? Although so many of the other drugs helped me, the side effects were horrible until I started Rituxan. Now I am unable to take MTX so I take it alone. I only have to have prednisone and allergy meds a few days prior to infusion then that's it. I have been extremely fortunate in that I don't have any problems with it AT ALL and at least for me, the benefits last for almost a year (not the standard 6 mths).? I have read that some people feel a little sluggish or so the day after but I have not even experienced that. Good luck!!! in SC ________________________________________________________________________ AOL Email goes Mobile! You can now read your AOL Emails whilst on the move.
