Hello,

My name is Micaela and I am brand-spanking new to IE. I was flipping

through a Health magazine today and saw it mentioned and I

thought " WOW! That's ME! " So (in my true compulsive fashion) ;) I

came home and began the internet research.

I am a busy mom of two daughters, ages 33 and 16 months respectively.

I live with my 2 DDs and my DH in sunny CA. I teach Spanish part-

time (on summer break now)and am in the certification process for

becoming a childbirth and lactation educator.

I try to live a holistic and healthy lifestyle, but my one major

struggle is healthy eating and having a healthy relationship with

food. I tend to swing from completely organic homemade food for a

few weeks to week of eating out- bingeing, really.

Soooo, I am here to learn from ou wise people. Any suggestions on

your favorite beginners book would be greatly appreciated. It seems

there are a lot on the subject!

Take care,

Micaela

I have read Intuitive Eating and am reading The Rules of Normal Eating now. I like IE best.

Welcome Micaela :) Glad you found is here and that you are moving on

with finding a more healthy relationship with food. There is a both a

book list and links here at the group site for help in understanding

IE more as well as additional support too. The one thing you need to

understand about IE is that it is driven by YOUR body and its needs

rather than what the rest of the world thinks you need. Sounds simple,

but its not easy to make that change for most of us with diet

mentality, so that's why we are here :) Post often and give yourself

the gift of time too.

Best to you, Katcha (in northernmost CA)
