Guest guest
Hi! I was recently told by a dermatologist that I have rosacea, although a different dermatologist told me I didn't have rosacea. I would say that I have many of the classic symptoms that I have read about... I have had a problem with redness on my face for several years -- mostly cheeks and chin. I never get any breakouts. Small red capillaries are visible up close. Doctors have prescribed oral 1) antibiotics (no effect) and then 2) Metrocreme (resulted in more severe redness and facial peeling). Two years ago I had laser surgury which was very effective in removing the capillaries and reducing redness (at the time, I didn't think I had rosacea). However, the capillaries have returned (I noticed this after giving birth to my son last summer). When I inquired into laser surgury a second time (this time with a dermatologist), he advised me to treat the rosacea first (that is why I used the Metrocreme). My question is: does anyone else have a similar problem with redness -- not pimples -- who has found a treatment that is effective? Thanks so much for your information! ------------------------------------------------------------------------
