, I'm sorry you're feeling crummy, but try to be patient with yourself as

you come up with a treatment plan that works for you. Was this your rheum or

your PCM that you missed? If you are super uncomfy, I would call back and talk

to his/her nurse. Be apologetic that you missed the call and explain you're

fatigued and hurting from a flare. They may be able to prescribe you something

to get you thru 'til Fri. Try to stay on a regular schedule. Get out of the

house during the day if it helps and if you can find a pool or warm water that's

a good option. Short naps are ok, but avoid long ones that detract from

nighttime sleep. To answer your question about tendonitis, I had DeQuervain's

in my hands and they treated me with cortisone injections that helped a great

deal. Feel better, Kate F

Subject: [ ] Really really suffering (and very mad at myself)

Well, I am having a terrible time.

The pain in the past few days has been very extreme, though Predinsone has

given some relief (i've been taking it since Friday) Last night, I had such

bad pain in my achillis tendon and the back of my knees that it kept me up

all night. I just lay there moaning, hour after hour. I got no sleep at all.

The pain was unreal, and nothing seemed to help it. I tried ice, which did a

little. Hurts really a lot today, very painful but not as bad.

I read online that tendonits can be caused by RA. I have not done any

activity yesterday, But I was out all day for mother's day, though no

exercise really. What can you do for tendonitis?

Here is why I am mad at myself. I called my dr in the morning, and then fell

asleep and slept for about 2 hours, despite the pain. The dr called during

that time, and now he is not in the office. He sounded upset with me, and I

feel so stupid for missing him. Now I have to wait until tomorrow to talk to

him. I can't get in to see him until Friday.

I feel achy and sick, like the worst case of the flu. I feel like I was hit

by a truck, so weak and tired that i can't stand it. Is feeling like you

have the flu normal for RA or is it some kind of reaction to the medication?

A friend invited me to a movie, but no way I could go. Tomorrow I am

canceling my counsetling appointment, which I really wanted to go to. It is

just impossible, but I REALLY wish I could go.

The only good thing is that the pian in my hands is less, but its been

replaced by the pain in the tendons. I'm trying to sit and watch a movie. I

really want to sleep, but I'm afraid if I do I'll be up all night again.

Is there any end to this? It's like a nightmare.
