Guest guest
I read it a few years ago and enjoyed it. It was about the extreme diets some people develop for reasons of health. The personal accounts put a human face on the problem. I think it relates to our IE work because it shows a way different from overeating that people use to hide behind food. I also think people go on such diets may also have fears about their health and a false sense that this puts them in control. My former nutrtionist once told me that some (not all!!!) people who think they have extreme food intolerances or must go on extremely restrictive food plans want another way to stay in the disease. These food plans can create an obsession. Or is the food obsessed person looking for a vehicle. I was very attracted to such plans but my COE always got in the way of getting too involved. My problem was that I believed in extremely healthy eating but always was angry with myself for not living up to them. Overall, an interesting view and well worth reading.
