Guest guest
Hi Barb, Sorry to butt in, but it was so alarming to read your email regarding acidity on the diet, and how a friend of yours lost a son to this problem. If it's not too painful, could you give a few details, so we can know the danger signs to look for? Thanks! Chris
Guest guest
Leita, As long as Asha is eating okay there would not be any problems with higher ketones. If it is any comfort, 's urinary ketones are ALWAYS instantly 16 on the test strips. For , 16 on the keto strips corresponds with a blood BOHB of about 2mm/L, and I aim to keep her blood BOHB above 4. Jill At 04:34 AM 6/26/02, you wrote: >Barb, Your email is quite alarming. Guest guest
Leita, As long as Asha is eating okay there would not be any problems with higher ketones. Appetite supression is a very telling indication of high levels of ketosis. If it is any comfort, 's urinary ketones are ALWAYS instantly 16 on the test strips. For , 16 on the keto strips corresponds with a blood BOHB of about 2mm/L, and I aim to keep her blood BOHB above 4. Jill At 04:34 AM 6/26/02, you wrote: Barb, Your email is quite alarming. Guest guest
I don't think you're near the acidosis stage, but it may be time for a small ratio drop...... maybe .2 ...... Katera needed a drop ever couple of months for quite a while. She would get extremely ketotic and irritable..... and then start refusing to drink and get dehyrated. Patti Re: ketones are getting higher and higher This post also has me worried. Is it possible to have extreme acidosis without the signs? Mike's ketones have been staying at 160 more frequently and today they were even 160 in the morning. Is this something I should be alarmed about? He doesnt really have any symptoms - no smell on his breath, no red ears, still eating and drinking normally, but he is extremely hyper - something that happens to him when he is at 160. Thanks for any insight. Jenn
