I think I've had food issues all my life (family curse!), but have been blessed w/ a decent metabolism to make up for it...until now! Since I hit 30 things have definitely changed! (and the 4 kids haven't helped!) I hate diets, can't stick with them. I hate feeling that I CAN'T eat certain foods, I end up obsessing about the " bad " things and then eventually binging on them. I followed an ie plan after having my first child and had some success. It's almost harder for me than following a diet because I don't know how to eat just anything in moderation. I feel like I'm not in control. But I want to be gentle with myself and not punish myself with dieting and extreme exercise anymore. I'm glad I've found this group. I don't have any books at this time, I'm just going by what I remember from the first time I tried eating this way. Any suggestions and starter points would be appreciated. Thanks so much! What doesn't help is lately I decided not to be careful of what I ate, just the calories, they all say that if you dont take in more than what you burn than you cant gain, you HAVE to loose, well I am here to say that is just not so. At least not for me! When I last lost weight it was just before turning 30, I am now getting ready next month to turn 34. So, that may have something to do with it. Who knows??
