Thanks so much for sharing your story e just be patient and fo slowly it will take some time for your body and your mind to IE. I have my days of struggle and days when I don't struggle with it but it is okay that is why its called normal eating. Eva

Hi -- I'm still new :) Just a few days on this site and I love it.

Today I feel a bit overwhelmed...I found myself relaxing at the thought of a big pasta dinner, with a rented movie (with DH after kids go to bed)...then I thought, "Wait I'm IEing (not a word but it will do ;) The thought of not being able to binge is hard for me...I haven't as of yet, yesterday or today...and my hope and prayer is that I can go to bed tonight with a happy tummy and no guilt.

Our child was just diagnosed with Autism...He is our blessing from heaven -- We have loads of new decisions we are making, and lots of money going out of pocket -- He is so worth it, as we look at it as paying for his college now...God love him (20 months old).

The last 10 months I've said, "It's too stressful" I'll "start" tomorrow.....it NEVER comes. I know that!! My younger child with Autism needs me -- he does not walk yet, so I continue to do a lot of carrying----I'm not a martyr or a cry me a river type :) I'm pretty strong, but this year has been a challenge and I'm having a very difficult time taking care of me without food!!!

This seems like a wonderfully supportive site, and I'm glad I found you --- Still waiting for my books on IE, as I've ordered a few of them...Thanks so much for listening...

Hi e,

We all fall back to our " old ways " at times. No one does I.E. perfectly. As I

have often read

here and in the I.E. book, with intuitive eating, there are no failures, only

learning

experiences.

Try to view the situation objectively and learn what you can from it. Don't

judge or criticize

yourself.

Just give yourself time and be patient with yourself. In other words, e,

cut yourself some

slack! :-)

B.

Thanks so much ...I ended up making it through the night..tiny bit of pasta, but the really good kind with cheese etc, didn't skimp as I knew I was only going to eat as much as my body needed, salad, and one roll (one roll is the major accomplishment of the year...) I ate slow and enjoyed every bit...I also had a tiny ice cream cup after (I remembered reading that on this site a couple of days ago, and it worked!)...by 11 I was a tad hungry again...went to bed.

"no failures only learning experiences"
