Guest guest
That is great progress Barbara!!! Subject: slow learnerTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Received: Monday, July 7, 2008, 8:22 AM Well, it is now a year and a half since I gave up dieting. I stillhave the weight Igained during the process of legalizing all foods BUT in spite of theweight, I dofeel I have made progress. I no longer binge!I am still having trouble recognizing hunger and fullness and the old habits ofwanting to eat because of emotions or boredom or just because I likeit are stillproblemsome. Lately I have adopted a new approach which I think will work forme. When I am not sure whether it is really hunger, I wait a halfhour or so, andif I am still preoccupied, I eat. And second, I deliberately cut myportions in half.If I want more I can have it after a half hour wait. Hopefully I willsomeday learnto interpret what my body is telling me.And another important new insight! Having a choice also means having a choiceto NOT EAT. Somebody probably said or wrote this long ago, but it is only nowregistering.I'm usually a lurker, but I gain so much from what others write Ithought I'd sharewhat is happening with me.Barbara Instant message from any web browser! Guest guest
Thanks for sharing, Barbara! Certainly you are right, why chose to eat when in doubt if we are or not are hungry. I'm going to chose today on , not to eat when in doubt. I'm a slow learner too. bye From: Barbara Lauer <barbaralauer@ gmail.com>Subject: [intuitiveEating_ Support] slow learnerTo: IntuitiveEating_ Support@yahoogro ups.comReceived: Monday, July 7, 2008, 8:22 AM Well, it is now a year and a half since I gave up dieting.
