I remember hearing about these 2 meds interacting. Doesn't it make the MTX

stronger or more side affects? I'm on 10mg of MTX and going to start taking

875 of Amoxicillin 2x day. This is for a sinus infection. I take my MTX on

Sat nights and 1mg Folic Acid every night except Sat. When I called the RA

doc office the nurse said there was no reaction. The pharmacy said it

makes it stronger and maybe more side effects.

Now I'm coming to the place I know first hand that knows about this. I

need some help and trying to figure out what these 2 drugs will do to me. I

can stop taking the MTX for a week if that will make things better. Lol.

Thanks,

Cheli

My RA doctor has always told me to not take the methotrexate when I have an

infection, cold or fever. Your system is already compromised and the

methotrexate will make it worse for you. I have a sinus infection and ear

infection and I forgot I was not suppose to take the methotrexate.
