Stan,

I'm so happy to hear you dumped your rheumy.  I hope you can get on the

right meds, and get to feeling better.  She needs to be reported.  You

have suffered for so long, I'm glad your GP doctor has been helping.

It's a long road, but you will start feeling soon.

Hi...

I would love to find a Rheumatologist that has RA, I really do believe they

would " get it " but right know I pretty happy with the staff at the VA rheummy

clinic, they were a lot more understanding. I am doing a " TNH " because I

tested positive for TB exposure (it's a pill I take daily) so I have to wait on

the Enbrel . I am very hopeful this will work, perhaps too hopeful but we'll

see. I live in Southern California for 21 years, after the divorce my ex implied

I'd lost my California privileges . I don't know about the weather since I've

only had RA here, but I do believe better weather would help. But I'm thinking,

to leave the Emerald City before I even meet the Wizard, I don't know?

Hi Stan,

I am a patient in the rheumatology clinic at the Sepulveda VA hospital in

southern California.  I have been so lucky to have so many good doctors.  When

I first was pretty much disabled with RA, one of my rheumatologists had suffered

from RA since her teenage years.  You can imagine how important it was that she

knew how the rest of us felt.

Nothing worked for me until Enbrel was approved by the FDA.  I was on Enbrel

for approximately seven or eight years before a serious infection  -- pneumonia

-- forced me to stop taking it.   Arava is my medicine now.  It took a long

time to kick in, but eventually did.

I teach school part time and pretty much lead a normal life.  There was a day

when I felt life as I knew it was history.

Isn't Seattle a difficult place to live with RA?  My flares are almost always

brought on with high humidity.

Hope you are feeling better and have good doctors now.

Sincerely,

Patsy

Stan You have met the wizzard, and he gave you RA.  Time for you to get out of

that climate, and move to a better place for your RA.  It worked for me moving

from Cape  Cod to Florida..............................Barbara

Stan, since you lost your California privileges, I'm glad the only

child you two had was that sock monkey! Now why can't I remember his

name?
