Guest guest
Jen, Thanks for the info. Did you have any irritation after the procedure? Did it help get rid of the large pores(if you have that problem) or help the texture of your skin in any way? Thanks, Margaret H. ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Margaret, If you've read Dr. Nase' post, no doubt you've pretty much decided that Photoderm is the way to go, but to answer your question, yes I did have some temporary burning right after the treatment on the more sensitive parts of my face - I don't know if everyone is the same. Also it did help the texture of my skin, but from what Dr.Nase has said, I made the mistake of not having enough treatments (I had four) so perhaps I would have seen even more improvement with more. BTW I'm scheduled to go again at the end of the month. Jen ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
Deborah, I called my dermatologist first and she gave me the name of a doctor. She didn't really know much about Photoderm, but said that one of her patients had it and was happy with the results. The other doctor I found in the yellow pages under Physicians-Dermatology. I also called most of the dermatologists that were listed in the yellow pages. To be honest most of them had not heard of Photoderm, so it was very frustrating. I did not call many cosmetic surgeons, but I suspect some of them might have the Photoderm machine. Also both of the doctors in my area told me that my insurance would not cover this procedure because it is considered " cosmetic " . Isn't that horrible, I mean I'm not asking for a tummy tuck or nose job I just want normal skin. Hope this helps Margaret H. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
Charlene, I have talked to people from Northwest Laser Derm and Preventive Medicine Associates. I have an appointment at Preventive Medicine Associates for my first treatment on April 5. The doctor at Northwest Laser Derm( Key) had a very impressive background, but I can't afford their prices. It was $900-$1200 for the first treatment- they charge the same amount for both Photoderm and laser surgery. These are the people I have found so far. I will let you know how my first appointment went. Guest guest
Hi, I just got back from my second treatment and I made it a point to get the settings. He used a triple pulse, a 570 filter, and a power of 50. He told me that he has had good luck with using triple pulses and he thinks they cause less inflammation. He also explained the when you use triple pulses the power(which was 50 for me) is divided among each pulse. The experience wasn't so bad the second time around. I had the lasercaine on for a longer amount of time before the procedure, and that helped a lot. Also I am not as red as I was after the first treatment, but I think I might have a blister. Guest guest
Hi Bill, Yes, I got my entire face done. I'm not really sure haw many zaps that is- I would guess at least 40 if not more. When I get my treatments they give me one of those stress relieving squeeze toys to hold on to so I just lie there squeezing it and talking to the assistant, so I can't say that I've paid much attention to the amount of zaps. I'm always amazed at how fast the whole procedure is.
